Il s’agirait d’un texte destiné à une lecture publique à l’occasion des célébrations commémoratives organisées après la mort d’Isaac Abravanel, écrit donc vers 1508. Initialement signalé par Eliaquim Carmoly comme étant en sa possession et ensuite perdu, le ms. contenant cet ouvrage est peut-être celui retrouvé par Pina Navè, édité par ses soins avec une traduction en anglais : cf. P. Navè, « Leone Ebreo’s Lament on the Death of this Father », dans Romanica et occidentalia : études dédiées juda abravanel et son œuvre 25 converso d’origine portugaise qui est entré en rapport, à Salonique, avec une partie de la famille Abravanel qui s’y était installée après l’Expulsion, parle aussi d’un ouvrage à sujet astronomique ou astrologique que Juda aurait écrit, mais qui ne nous est pas parvenu.
